De Notelaer at Hingene 2012, part twee

The neoclassical pavillion on the bank of the Schelde, now De Notelaer from Hingene,
interior. Although the building does not look very high from the site of the bank,
it is a lot higher at the garden site. The different stairs reach to the upper floor, under the dome.

Interior of the octagonal salon 'à l'italienne'. The paintings are from Antoine Plateau.
The site of the river Schelde has windows from the floor, the opposite site is similar,
but with mirrors instead of glass, which produces special effects.

With double mirror effects I could not prevent photographing myself.

Between the inner and the outer dome there was the space for the musicians.
The salon was not only used for dining or for the walks, it also had
an erotic function and was therefore regarded as the room of Eros and Venus.
With the musicians there also was a police who had to prevent
the musicians to look down through this opening.
