Madeira is still a wanderers paradise. Meanwhile the south coast is build quite full,
one agglomeration from Ribeira Brava unto Machico, and also Santana is full of houses.
The interior however is one big nature reservation with mountain trails and the levada's: the small water canals.
Beside the levada's are often paths, made for the maintenance.

When almost the entire island was covered with dark clouds,
here on the east peninsula Ponta de São Lourenço the sun was shining.
