Virtual Museum, for contemporary art with feeling, page 14

Welcome to page 14 of Virtual Museum, a choice of excellent artists of today art, to be found on the internet. In the years 20 surrealism came up, originally as abstract art. But soon surrealism evolved to the abstract as well as to the figurative, often even painfully precise (see History of modern art). All too soon it's end was announced, although surrealism continued under the name of "fantastic art". Surrealism however doesn't have a starting date, nore an end. When the cave dwellers of the prehistoric times painted a wall with nothing else but hands, they painted surrealism. Today there are more surrealistic painters then ever, and they will always exist as long as people are painting.
